About Squirt Cycling

Squirt Cycling Products is a South African manufacturer of innovative bicycle care products, founded, owned, and managed by passionate cyclists since 2003.

The company was born out of a genuine need — a solution to the problems with traditional oil-based chain lubes that attracted dirt and grime, leaving chains black and requiring constant reapplication. A group of friends — a lawyer, a pharmacist, and an engineer — decided to solve it themselves: "We are passionate about cycling and none of the products offered a solution, so we created it."

After extensive research and testing, they landed on a groundbreaking wax-based formula that outperformed everything available at the time. More durable, lower maintenance, and self-cleaning, it keeps the bicycle chain clean in both the wettest and driest conditions.

In 2003, they pioneered the world's first wax/water emulsion chain lubricant — a breakthrough that changed how cyclists think about chain care. Testing in extreme Southern African terrain proved it was so effective and long-lasting that relubrication was rarely needed in long distance training and racing.

In 2004, Squirt became the official chain lube supplier at the inaugural Cape Epic, earning the trust of mountain biking legends like Ned Overend (Specialized) and Travis Brown (Trek), gaining rapid popularity across Europe and the US.

The success of Squirt Cycling led to the development of a range of unique and innovative products designed to enhance the enjoyment of cycling by simplifying and streamlining bike care and rider comfort. These include a full lineup of chain lubes — Long Lasting, Low Temp, E-Bike Chain Wax, and the new Hot Wax — each formulated with unique properties to improve chain life and performance. Beyond lubrication, the range extends to Squirt SEAL tubeless tire sealant; a Ready To Use Foam Spray and concentrated biodegradable bike cleaner; the eZ-Luber application system for quick, clean lubrication for e-bikers; and rider care products including SweatSucker and SLURP sweatbands, as well as Barrier Balm and Squirt Chamois Cream — both anti-chafe products that provide long-lasting skin protection and comfort on the bike.
