About Squirt Cycling

Squirt Cycling Products started in 2003 with a clever gadget: a device the founders developed to let cyclists lube their chains on the fly, out on the road or trail. The problem? At the time, the commonly available chain lubricants were oil-based — attracting dirt and grime, turning chains black, and needing constant reapplication. Frustrated that no suitable lube existed for their new gadget, two lawyers, a pharmacist, and an engineer — all passionate cyclists — decided that if no one else was going to fix it, they would.

"We are passionate about cycling and none of the products offered a solution, so we created it."

After extensive research and testing, they landed on something the cycling world hadn't seen before: a water/wax-based emulsion that was more durable, lower maintenance, and self-cleaning — keeping chains clean in the wettest and driest conditions alike. This was the world's first wax lubricant, tested and proven in some of the toughest terrain Southern Africa could throw at it.

In 2004, Squirt Cycling Products became the official chain lubricant supplier at the inaugural Cape Epic, earning early trust from mountain biking legends like Ned Overend and Travis Brown — and from there, word spread fast across Europe and the US.

The success of Squirt Cycling led to the development of a range of unique and innovative products designed to enhance the enjoyment of cycling by simplifying and streamlining bike care and rider comfort. These include a full lineup of chain lubes — Long Lasting, Low Temp, E-Bike Chain Wax, and the new Hot Wax — each formulated with unique properties to improve chain life and performance. Beyond lubrication, the range extends to Squirt SEAL tubeless tire sealant; a Ready To Use Foam Spray and concentrated biodegradable bike cleaner; the eZ-Luber application system for quick, clean lubrication for e-bikers; and rider care products including SweatSucker and SLURP sweatbands, as well as Barrier Balm and Squirt Chamois Cream — both anti-chafe products that provide long-lasting skin protection and comfort on the bike.
